Alongside the client work at Chemistry, I’ve been building small creative tools with AI. Some started as pitch ideas, some as answers to “what if,” and a few just because I wanted a new toy.
Chemistry × AI
None of these replace the people we hire. They’re sketches: fast ways to test an idea, rough out a pitch, or hand a client something they can actually play with before we bring in the experts.
Every project below was vibe-coded with Anthropic’s Claude and opens in its own playground. Type, tweak, and break things. Nothing you make leaves your browser.
Voxatype3000
Built with: Claude, Three.js
A 3D type engine that builds words out of voxels. Type a message, then bend it with depth profiles, swap colorways and backgrounds, and click to blow it apart.
Chembeat
Built with: Claude, Web Audio
An 808-style drum machine that runs entirely in the browser. Seven synthesized drum voices, a 16-step sequencer, pattern chaining, swing, effects, and EQ. No samples. Every hit is generated live.
Orbitype
Built with: Claude, Three.js
Wrap your words around a world. Set multiline type on a band or a sphere, send it orbiting Earth, a gas giant, or a giant orange, then finish it with bloom and film grain.
Mattemaker
Built with: Claude, p5.js
Two images, one moving matte. Pick a pattern (lines, pulsing gradients, checkerboards, or organic shapes), then decide how the edges cut: blur, choker, pixel dissolve, or glitch.
Flipscroll
Built with: Claude
Drop in an image sequence and scrub it with your scroll wheel. A scrolljack template for web projects, with frame ordering that reads your file names and a filmstrip you can drag to reorder.
ascii cam
Built with: Claude
Your camera, rebuilt as live type. Swap character sets and color looks, then stack effects like edges, wave, glitch, and echo.
In defense of the ephemeral.
In pursuit of the perpetual.
